Part of An Exhibit?

Ha! So apparently it's easier for me to get to the Utah Museum of Natural History than to Taco Bell. I'll get back to the contest soon... since I know you can't wait (The funny thing is I'm really interested to see which bathroom scores the highest). The Museum is a cool one though, for its size, which is only small compared to really big cities. Let's start at the beginning.

This is iconic. And when you put money in its mouth, it roars, and then talks. :) We haven't really even gotten into the exhibits yet, and already any kid's dream.

It really is cool to see just how big this head is up close. Whatever the answer for dinosaurs, they are fascinating, and I feel just like a little kid again while I sit in front of these great bones and imagine what they must have been like.

History moved on...

And so did I...

It really is fitting that this kind of a restroom be in a Natural History Museum...

It might as well have been an exhibit, and for some reason I expected to find a shower around that corner of the stalls. There wasn't a shower.

The restrooms were old, to the extent that it was hard to tell whether or not they were really even clean. I think you'll know the aesthetic here as well as I did, though as always the picture does not truly convey that feeling. There wasn't anything automatic, the mirror and tile was chipped in places, and it just felt older, a bathroom you'd use if you needed one.

Compared to the nicer restrooms we've seen on here, this one recieves a line rating. It has great capacity, with plenty of stalls. But one thing even better about this one... we know a better one is coming, and I'll bet this one has very nice bathrooms.

On Bathroom Aesthetics and Impartiality

Since we tend to pay attention in general to our surroundings, in restrooms the details are all assimilated and translated into very generalized responses.

In other words, sometimes for as clean as a restroom may be, the aesthetics are just wrong and leave you feeling icky. I'll try to be as impartial as possible, but let's face it, a lot comes down to how I generally feel while there.

This will undoubtedly, inevitably show in my ratings.

Restroom Goals

Restrooms that I would like to rate, but will take some time to get there.

1. Angel's Landing - Scout Lookout (It is a strenuous, 2.5 mile hike to the top. Well worth it, probably nasty, but I'm not there yet in any case. :)

2. The Louvre - obviously great, it would have to be.
