Awesome Surroundings Warrant More Photos

Probably one of my favorite bathrooms, most frequented, and really clean, is at the Museum of Church History and Art. The exhibits are really engaging, informative, and combine in an impressive interplay of art and history.

And then as you look to the restroom, on the main floor of the Museum, you are greeted by an epic depiction of Lehi's Dream of the Tree of Life by Steven Neal.

and just across the hall...

With any place that really focuses on public image and reception, you notice a marked difference in the cleanliness of restroom facilities as well. The LDS Church is wonderful in this regard, for people who frequent these restrooms especially.

The facilities are clean, are located on every level of the three story edifice, and as you leave the restrooms on either upper level, you are greeted by iconic masterpieces of LDS art. Anyone familiar with this other image?

The original is just outside the second floor restroom. The rating on this one... good to great.

This seriously might be the coolest blog I've ever seen :)

Thanks Eliza. I'm grateful for the reinforcement. Let's see if I can keep up momentum.

On Bathroom Aesthetics and Impartiality

Since we tend to pay attention in general to our surroundings, in restrooms the details are all assimilated and translated into very generalized responses.

In other words, sometimes for as clean as a restroom may be, the aesthetics are just wrong and leave you feeling icky. I'll try to be as impartial as possible, but let's face it, a lot comes down to how I generally feel while there.

This will undoubtedly, inevitably show in my ratings.

Restroom Goals

Restrooms that I would like to rate, but will take some time to get there.

1. Angel's Landing - Scout Lookout (It is a strenuous, 2.5 mile hike to the top. Well worth it, probably nasty, but I'm not there yet in any case. :)

2. The Louvre - obviously great, it would have to be.
